As of May 1, 2009

Rural Health Network was awarded a grant from Health Resources and Services Administration (Health and Human Services) to provide dental sealants over a three year period to the second and seventh grade school children of Monroe County.  We are partnering with the Monroe County School District to provide this free service.  Parents are urged to sign the parental permission slips allowing RHN to provide the sealants to the children.  RHN will have qualified licensed dentists and hygienists available to do the assessments and sealants at the individual schools.  Please contact RHN if you need a permission slip.

As of May 1, 2009

Rural Health Network was awarded a grant from the Health Foundation of South Florida to provide cancer screenings for breast, cervical and colorectal cancers.  We are partnering with WomanKind, Inc. of Key West to do the screenings.  Please contact RHN or WomanKind for details.

As of July 1, 2009

RHN has expanded its Marathon facility to three dental operatories and doubled its clinic space.  We now have better access to medical care and oral health care.

In Key West we have expanded our three chair dental clinic to a five chair clinic, with fully digital x-rays, including panoramic x-rays.

Rural Health Network has plans to provide more primary care coverage in the Lower Florida Keys, in the Key West area.  Also, Rural Health hopes to open a third dental clinic and a new primary care clinic in the Upper Keys.  Keep informed here for the latest information!

Remember please;  we are a Monroe County based non-profit entity, with 100% Monroe County employees, and a 100% Monroe County Board of Directors, and funded in large part by Monroe County tax dollars.  Rural Health Network has been here to serve the citizens of Monroe County for the past 16 years, with direct care services over the past ten years.

     The Rural Health Network is a non-profit charitable organization that
is supported by local county government, by the State of Florida, the
federal government, by community contributions and by patient fees.  Patient
fees are offered on a sliding fee scale basis, known as a "Fair Share" Clinic.  All discounted health care
charges will require proof of income.
